There’s no „I“ in team. Keep your Ego in check.Nothing gets done without ego. Ego is the executive control function of your brain. Ego makes the decisions. But an unchecked ego becomes a maniac. Using your ego to get things you want is necessary. Staying in control of what your ego wants is essential.
Tame your ego! It’s perfectly alright to use it; you even need it, but don’t let it use you. A wounded ego is dangerous. It will blame everybody else for its past wounds and blunders. Ego is a master of denial, avoidance and blame. To become a team player, though, a wounded ego must heal. In teamwork, it’s one for all and all for one. Remember, a team is made up of individual players, so being a better team player is also key to becoming a better individual player. Know and accept your position in the team and be willing to do whatever it takes. Be humble. Be smart.
